摘要

Test and computation results were obtained and compared to determine and predict the incidence of layer orientation and assembly specification on the mechanical behavior of carbon fiber-epoxy composites. The mechanical properties of the component layers were studied separately. Different specimen geometries were used. It is shown that a prediction of first delamination damage in crossed layer composites is extremely difficult, while it is possible to predict the stress to initiate transversal cracks and the evolution of their number. It is also possible to evaluate the layer type susceptibility to delamination.
