摘要

The influence of the component and crack geometry on the fracture-mechanical characteristics of ferritic steels and on their scattering, was investigated using steel 20MnMoNi55. The present status of statistical models is reviewed. The origin of fracture was determined for almost all test specimens on the brittle fracture surface. A connection between J-integral and fissure of the brittle fracture surface was found. The initiation of the brittle fracture was described by the weakest-link model: the proceeding stable crack growth can be described by a extended model. The weakest-link model does not predict the scattering among the specimens. Results with bend specimen with semi-elliptical surface crack indicate that the weakest-link model can also be used for this crack geometry.
