The geology, tectonic background, and the earthquake zoning characteristics of Turkey are described to provide the basis for defining conditions for site selection for occupation by mobile laser systems. Information on the geography and geology encountered at the sites is provided. Meteorological conditions for the region of the stations are summarized.
