摘要

The origin of the Goldstein singularity in separated boundary layers is derived numerically. It is shown that the singularity is due to the mathematical way in which the flow equations are treated. Strategies to avoid the singular behavoir are discussed. Analysis of the iterative behavior of these methods reveals a common underlying condition governing their convergence.
