This work is devoted to various aspects of vapour-liquid equilibrium calculations. The contents may be divided into two parts.nThe first part comprises practical procedures for the determination of the "best" parameters in a deterministic model and the precise discrimination between various such models. The objective was to extract useful information from a limited number of experimental observations of "engineering accuracy". These procedures are illustrated by the development of simple correlations for various physical properties useful in vapour-liquid equilibrium calculations. A simple objective function is proposed for the determination of the "best" parameters in a liquid phase activity coefficient model. A simple procedure for precise model discrimination is illustrated by a comparison between various liquid mixture models.
