摘要

Effective cooperation between the commercial and R&D departments is a necessary condition for successful innovation. Research has been carried out to explore the quality of the R&D/marketing interface during the product innovation process and to list and classify the cooperation problems with their backgrounds and possible solutions. The listing of the cooperation problems led to the formulation of four categories: insight, appraisal, communication and capacity problems. For each category the situations in which the specific problems occurred were given together with the most successful solutions that companies have found. Extensive descriptions of the best as well as the worst companies are given to provide some insight into the wide range and the complexity of the factors that influence the cooperation between the commercial department and development and innovation success.
