摘要

The paper offers a series of alternatives for the use of sugar cane, its by-products and derivatives for animal feeding, taking as a basis the experience obtained in the Latin American and Caribbean region. The focus is mainly taken from the viewpoint of the various possibilities offered by the sugar cane agro-industry in animal feed production, without going into an analysis of formulas and diets, nor of the breeding and fattening of the different types of livestock, since this specialization falls outside the scope of this study. There is a wide spectrum of processes in the production of foodstuffs from sugar cane and its by-products, from the simple use of residues to more sophisticated products, such as lysine, for example.
