A summary is presented of a series of monitoring campaigns held between 1984 and 1989 to locate the sources of intentional harmful interference to the HF broadcast spectrum. The monitoring programs were organized under the auspices of the International Frequency Registration Board of the International Telecommunications Union. The locations of the sources of interference as well as the broadcast administrations and languages targeted between 1984 and 1989 are also given. Political restructuring in the Soviet Union and Eastern Bloc countries during this period are reflected in reductions in the level of jamming documented in the report.
