摘要

The report addressed the difficult and important task of developing concurrent and distributed systems. It stresses the specific problems associated with real-time systems. The aim is to obtain formal and rigorous methods for the development of such systems. The goal is to provide frameworks for the specification and development of distributed real-time systems that are both practically adequate and theoretically sound. The main insight is that the deficiencies of existing formalisms are mainly complementary and that combining these formalisms can be very effective. Besides combining formalisms, the research will proceed in two major directions: broadening the scope of present formalisms, and narrowing the gap between specification and executable code.
