The report describes an experiment used to test the application of thermal-pulse flowmeter measurements to the hydraulic testing of a typical fracture zone at a study site for which core-fracture data and the results of geophysical tomographic studies are available to corroborate flowmeter measurements. Two adjacent boreholes were selected for study because they penetrated the same fracture zone and intersected very few other fractures to complicate the interpretation of geophysical measurements. The report also describes results from several other boreholes at the study area that provide additional insight into the details of water circulation in fracture zones.
