摘要

This report presents guidelines to assist the small/medium manufacturing firm in its efforts to adopt advanced technology. The firm can utilize the concepts in this study to increase their prospects for a successful transfer of technolgy into their manufacturing activity. The scope of the manufacturing activity is not limited to manufacturing processes and equipment, but also includes product design which drives these items and supporting functions such as management tools. Sections of the study include extensive discussion and analysis of the issue, a chapter on technology transfer issues, and a discussion on the manufacturing framework. Figures supporting the discussion include a technology deployment model, a socio-technical systems model, an implementation process model and a deployed technology framework.
