摘要

The study of host-parasite relationships in insects is of paramount importance for laying the theoretical base of biological plant protection. This book discusses the results from studies on the specifics of relationships between two concrete species, that is, host and parasite, much attention is being given to the general parasitology of insects. Outlined and analyzed are the various morphological structures of the parasite's preimaginal and imaginal stages and their functions, the parasite's adaptation for the host's seasonal cycle, the effects of the parasite larvae on the host growth, development, and viability as well as the biological features of the parasite's adult phase (imago). Also, the role of the parasite in regulating the numbers of the host is evaluated.
