摘要

Archaeological investigations were conducted at 11 cultural resource sites located along Colorado Forest Highway 60 in southwestern Colorado. The sites were investigated to mitigate potential impacts resulting from road improvements. Eight of the sites are comprised of peeled ponderosa pine trees. Dendrochronological studies conducted at these sites indicate bark peeling in the mid-nineteenth century, suggesting Ute affiliation. The remaining three sites, are lithic scatters, previously determined to be eligible to the National Register of Historic Places.
