The report presents a review of selected simulations the Department of Defense uses to provide information about the effectiveness of weapon systems and the efforts of the department to ensure the simulations' credibility. It is one of several GAO reviews on the quality of information being used for decisionmaking, and it focuses on the tools federal departments and agencies use to generate that information.
