A class of non-gradient algorithms is considered that perform adaptive partition and search of the feasible region Hc(R sup n) on which a multiextremal function f is minimized. Axiomatic requirements are formulated which assure global convergence of a prototype algorithm. The suggested approach is applicable (in different realizations) to rectangular, convex and nonconvex sets H.
