摘要

The study look at the history of the site starting with the first European settlement to the first Roosevelt purchase in 1867, the expansion of the area through multiple family purchases and FDRs life there with Eleanor and their six children. This report, heavily illustrated with photos, and maps, provides a look at FDR and his relation to place. Much of the book focuses on his efforts at forest management (by 1929 he had planted 67,000 trees), the American conservation movement, and farming.
