摘要

A prototype flat three-conductor number 6 AWG G-GC shuttle-car trailing cable has been fabricated in an SHD configuration using a conductive-rubber shield material with volume resistivity of 32 ohm-cm. Resistances measured through the shield, between a penetrating object and the cable grounding conductor, are 1,000 ohms or less. The conductive-rubber can be easily stripped from the insulated conductors, important for splicing. An SHC splicing approach appears to be practical and effective. In-mine evaluation with high-sensitivity ground-fault relaying is recommended.
