摘要

Activity in the first-year period October 1, 1983, to September 30, 1984, focused on a continuation of in vivo canine studies at the Stanford Synchrotron Radiation Laboratory (SSRL) and on preparations for pilot human subject studies. The hearts of seven dogs were examined in March 1984, both by reference aortic root studies and by transvenous contrast administration. In preparation for human-subject studies an X-ray beam at SSRL was expanded in width, a monochromator of matching width fabricated, and an examination room prepared. In parallel, the imaging apparatus was modified to accommodate the wider beam.
