摘要

Medical grade polysulphone is an attractive matrix material for fibre reinforced composites for surgical implants. It has good biomedical compatibility, composites made from it have excellent strength properties and they are also thermoplastic. The paper describes the results of a research program on this material conducted by the National Mechanical Engineering Research Institute in close collaboration with research teams working in the field of orthopaedic surgery and veterinary surgery.
