The Economic Analysis Series is designed to provide field employees with a tool for screening proposed investments in selected intensive forest management practices. Report 3 discusses precommercial thinning and commercial thinning, and expands on intensive forest management, investment criteria, questions and general assumptions. Existing Forest Inventory data is discussed as is Cost and Return Data for thinning activities. Sample problems are given.
