As an introduction to the ADS workshop on food price policy and subsidies, Dr. Dyaa Abdou laid out the issues for discussion. The workshop's aim was not only to present research findings and recommendations, but also to educate all persons involved toward a better understanding of the social, economic, and political impacts of changing (or not changing), any of these policies.
