At the request of USAID/Bangkok, a packaging specialist was hired to provide consulting services to the Royal Thai Government in regard to the handling and packaging of fresh fruit exports. This document provides a report of that March 1983 consultancy. Prerequisites to designing packaging are identified as knowledge of physical and physiological hazards involved in product distribution, of product fragility, and of the properties of available packaging materials and systems.
