摘要

The study tests the following hypotheses: (1) the frequency of innovation is inversely proportional to industry concentration; (2) the time required for the innovation process to be completed is not a function of industry concentration; (3) old capital intensive industry sectors are less intensive than new, capital intensive industry sectors; (4) the time required for completion of the innovation process is the same in small firms as in large and medium-size firms; and (5) small firms in diffuse industries are more innovative than small firms in concentrated industries.
