摘要

5MF605 is located on the Green River in Brown's Park Wildlife Refuge, Moffat County, Colorado, and is thought to be the remains of Fort Davy Crockett, an 1830s fur trade post. The mitigation program was conducted because the Green River was eroding the site, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service planned to grade the riverbank to prevent further erosion. It was found from the excavations that the site contained a single cultural level, and all of the material recovered appeared to date the fur trade era.
