This report on the National Ocean Survey Strategic Petroleum Reserve Support Project presents the analysis and interpretation of the oceanographic and related meteorological conditions observed during a 12-month period beginning June 2, 1978. The results do not purport to represent baseline conditions of the area, but rather to characterize the important physical oceanographic features that will affect brine discharges. The two proposed brine disposal sites on the Louisiana inner continental shelf are known as West Hackberry and Weeks Island.
