摘要

The Mental Health and Behavioral Sciences Service Conference was held to present recent advances in clinical neuropsychology. Brain injury and the subsequent treatment and rehabilitation stages are assessed. Reports include a discussion of acute brain injury and disease, a new way to scan the central nervous system, the use of memory tests as a method of solving neuropsychological problems, and the development of a battery of tests for the neuropsychological assessment of older adults. The Luria-Nebraska and Halsteand-Reitan test batteries are explained and critiqued. Also included are reports on the various methods that are used to predict the outcome of rehabilitation, along with a discussion of the effects of brain damage on the families of veterans. The transcript concludes with a summary section on recent advances in neuropsychology.
