This is the 13th annual report on Motor Vehicle Safety. Highlights: (1) A statistical compilation of accidents and injuries occurring in the preceding calendar year; (2) A list of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards prescribed or in effect during the year; (3) The degree of observance of applicable Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards; (4) A summary of all current research grants and contracts, together with a description of the problems to be considered by the grantees and contractors; (5) An analysis and evaluation, including relevant policy recommendations, of research activities completed and technological progress achieved during the year; (6) A statement of enforcement actions during the year, including judicial decisions, settlements, and pending litigation; (7) The extent to which technical information was disseminated to the scientific community and consumer-oriented information was made available to the motoring public; and (8) A summary on the administration of the Energy Policy and Conservation Act of 1975 and the Department of Energy Act of 1978.
