It is in the interests of road users on public roads that all vehicles comply with minimum brake performance specifications. These specifications were formulated from comprehensive research into the capabilities of each individual type of vehicle. It is the object of this report to put forward recommendations for the minimum brake performance of agricultural tractor/trailer combinations. Results of various brake tests on vehicles with different braking systems and layouts will be examined in order to substantiate these recommendations. This investigation was undertaken to advise the Committee on Dimensions and Masses of Agricultural Equipment in formulating recommendations.
