The purpose of the Operational Research (OR) Workshop sponsored jointly by the National College of Agricultural Engineering and the National Institute of Agricultural Engineering was to show how OR, which is based on the use of mathematical models, can provide unique information on the physical and economic performance of agricultural production systems. The main aim of the Workshop was to bridge the gap between the potential user and the OR practitioner and to show how his techniques can be applied to a wide range of agricultural problems.
