摘要

This technical release (TR) is concerned with the structural design of monolithic straight drop spillways. The material presented treats structural design, it does not treat hydraulic design. A computer program was written to perform this design task. The program will execute preliminary designs as an aid to selection of the final design. The program will execute the detail design of the specified straight drop spillway. Concrete thicknesses and distances are determined and required steel area and spacings are evaluated. The TR documents the criteria and procedures used in the program, explains input data required, and illustrates computer output. Straight drop spillways with no, one, or two longitudinal sills depending on either designer preference or program selection. Spillways are symmetrical about their longitudinal centerline in both construction and loading.
