摘要

Man's concern with the destruction of his environment has promoted an interest in the knowledge of the movement of pollutants in groundwater aquifers. This study concerns itself with two problems in this area: (1) hydrodynamic dispersion in seepage from a triangular channel,and (2) the influence of electro-osmosis on flow in an aquifer with a recharge and discharge well. The finite element method using rectangular elements is employed to solve two-dimensional isotropic,homogeneous hydrodynamic flow and dispersion in the first problem and the effect of electro-osmosis on the hydrodynamic flow field in the second problem. Also,included are comparisons between finite element,finite difference and analytical solutions of a test dispersion-convection problem.
