摘要

The objective was to determine whether or not the available data and basic theory are adequate for description of the interrelationships between ground water and surface water in a selected real system. The study was divided into three stages: (1) review of the literature to determine the processes involved; (2) comparison of models which could simulate the water transfer process;and (3) application of a selected model to a real system. The results of the first two stages indicate that good accuracy could be achieved through use of the generalized Boussinesq equation in conjunction with a flow equation which applies for flow under the channel and which incorporates a term accounting for water transfer. The conclusion of this phase of the study is that the model reproduced most of the essential characteristics of the water-level fluctuations in wells in the study area. Constant permeability and constant evapotranspiration of the flood plain were adequate for the simulation, although allowing them to vary would have improved the results.
