The report proposes mathematical relationships to predict costs of the electrodialysis process for the conversion of a number of selected saline waters to potable water. The mathematical relationships are satisfactory for use by longhand computation or computer operation. A computer program is developed from these mathematical relationships. The method, although based on the current state of the art of electrodialysis, can readily be adapted to make use of future developments related to the many variables. Mathematical relationships, samples of computer printout sheets, results of selected computer runs, and typical plant layouts are displayed. (Author)
