A method is developed to derive the kinematical parameters of a tumbling elongated object from either an isolated series of observations of this object's "body angles" and simultaneous observations of its azimuth and altitude as seen from one sta¬tion, as well as from series of these data that were observed simultaneously at two separated stations. The theory is tested on and applied to the pass of the rocket of Sputnik III in the morning of 1958 September 11, which was observed from San Sal-vador and from Mayaguana. The methods developed for the One-and for the Two Station Solutions (both of which were tried) yield practically identical results.
