摘要

Reflection electron diffraction at low angles from very smooth surfaces of solids give an interf ence pattern which is produced by electrons scattered from only a few net planes of atoms parallel to the surface.nThe character of the diffraction phenomena obtained from these surface net planes should make possible a study of the surface structure of solids, and what we have attempted here is analysis of the information that can be obtained, conditioned by the nature of the investigations of surfaces by electron diffraction.
