摘要

The current density distribution in an ideal cell is a function of the electrode height, the grid resistance, the electrolyte resistance, and the polarization. Mathematical solutions have been obtained for those cases where the polarization curves are either linear, logarithmic, cubic, or inverse cubic. A numerical method is indicated for finding a general solution. For practical applications, the use of the complex mathematical calculations involved has been eliminated by presenting the results in simplified graphs which show the current density distributions and other cell characteristics over a wide range of operating conditions. The determination of these cell characteristics can be of considerable importance in cell design.
