摘要

The effect of various heat treatments on the mechanical properties of 5/8" diameter bar from four titanium alloys of five interstitial content levels each vas determined. Three major types of heat treatment were employed: (l) a solution treatment and age cycle, (2) a step quench cycle and (3) a solution treatment, isothermal transformation cycle. The alloys investigated vere T1-5A1 Complex (Ti-5Al-l.7Cr-l.6iPe-l.6lMo),, Ti-3Mn Complex (Ti-3Mn-lCr-lFe-lMo-lV), Ti-6A1-4V and Ti-4Al-4Mn. Inter¬stitial levels were (l) lOW (100 BHN sponge base), (2) high oxygen (.24%), (3) high nitrogen (.07%), (4) intermediate oxygen and nitrogen (.16% and .04% respectively) and (5) high carbon (.2%).nThe effect of section size on the mechanical properties and the heat treat-ment response of the T1-5A1 Complex alloy vas determined.
