摘要

The document reports the main issues discussed during the fifth course-debate of the Istituto Superiore di Sanita (the National Institute of Health in Italy) on quality assurance in radiotherapy. The course held in 2007 in Chieti in collaboration with the Ospedale Clinicizzato SS. Annunziata and in Cagliari in 2008 in collaboration with the Ospedale Oncologico A. Businco. The course specifically aimed to have more insight in two critical aspects in the 3D planning for three different pathologies: 1) definition of Clinical Target linfonodal Volume which potentially represents the more extended volume among the Volumes of Interest (due to its localization far from the Gross Tumor Volume) thus influencing the volume to be treated, and 2) definition and implementation of the main quality indicators in the 3D radiotherapy planning. This document presents the crucial points considered to improve the steps concerning contouring optimization of linfonodal sites and to define related quality indicators.
