摘要

The Multi-Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (MHIRA) report was prepared by Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) as a reference document that summarizes the conclusions of a research project. The purpose of the report is to define and document previous efforts of identifying natural and technological hazards and also to assess risks associated with these hazards. This product is a result of a program developed by FEMA in the 1990s that sought a national approach to the mitigation of human and economic loss in times of disasters. The report offers many resources and references to the research and outlines the findings into chapter titles, such as: Atmospheric Hazards, Technological Hazards, Risk Assessment Approaches, Geologic Hazards, Hydrologic Hazards, Seismic Hazards, etc. For continued study, other resources that link the report can be found on the FEMA website or in the FEMA Information Resource Library (IRL).
