The series of studies outlined in this Bulletin describe the ways in which the group worked to understand and respond to girls delinquency. Using a combination of literature reviews, dataset analysis, and program and instrument reviews, they conducted a series of studies (each outlined in detail in forthcoming OJJDP Bulletins). These studies should shed light on why girls become delinquent, and provide a research foundation for the juvenile justice community to consider what treatment and intervention programs are most effective for girls.
