This report describes the results of the river-pulse study of a reach of the RioGrande near the Rio Bravo Bridge, south of Albuquerque, New Mexico, from February to May 1997. Ground-water levels, surface-water stage, and discharge data were collected along a section perpendicular to the Rio Grande. The report describes the methods used, the data collected, and the ground-water simulation used to estimate the hydraulic properties of the aquifer. Hydraulic properties were estimated by using a two-dimensional cross-sectional ground-water flow model to simulate aquifer-system responses to a short-duration (3 days) and a long-duration (39 days) increase in river and drain stages.
