ECOGEO 2000 provides a forum for transferring knowledge on practical applicationsconcerning the technical and environmental aspects of industrial by-product utilization, remediation of contaminated soils, and barrier structures for groundwater protection. The environmental risks connected with the use of industrial by-products are covered very thoroughly and the remediation methodology of contaminated soils is presented widely. The conference is intended for corporate environmental managers, earth construction contractors, environmental experts and decision-makers from municipal and government sectors, entrepreneurs and private consultants as well as researchers. The ECOGEO 2000 conference also concludes the Finnish five-year ecogeotechnology research program, co-ordinated by Tekes, the National Technology Agency of Finland.
