摘要

The purpose of this report is to characterize the sources and transport of211u001ephosphorus and major forms of nitrogen in the main-stem Tualatin River during the 211u001elow-flow periods of summer, where 'summer' is defined as the period May 1 through 211u001eOctober 31. This analysis of nutrients is based primarly on information collected 211u001efrom 1991 thorugh 1993; data from other years are included at times to provide a 211u001emore complete analysis. The report focuses on nutrients in the main-stem river; 211u001econsequently, inputs from tributaries and tile drains, ground water, and WWTP 211u001eeffluent, and losses from withdrawals are discussed primarily as sources or sinks 211u001eof nutrients to the main-stem river. This report provides the data and 211u001eunderstanding of the sources of nutrients in the basin necessary to prepare a 211u001esound nutrient management plan, with the ultimate goal of improving the quality 211u001eof the Tualatin River and its aquatic ecosystem.
