The objectives of the report were to (1) summarize our recent findings on211u001ecomputer security and critical infrastructure protection and (2) suggest 211u001eimprovements that build on lessons learned from the Year 2000 date conversion 211u001eexperience. The authors provided a draft of this port and solicited informal 211u001ecomments from a variety of officials who have been involved in Year 2000 and 211u001ecritical infrastructure protection efforts. They received oral and electronic 211u001email comments from the Chairman of the Council on Year 2000 Conversion; the Co-211u001eChairs of the CIO Councils Security Committee, one of whom is Chair of the 211u001eSubcommittee on Critical Infrastructure Protection; and officials in the Critical 211u001eInformation Assurance Office. The authors considered these comments and noted the 211u001emost signficant ones in pertinent segments of the report.
