The report discusses the costs to operate the Forest Service's Alaska Region. TheForest Service provides the Alaska Region with annual appropriations for its operations, and the region further allocates these appropriations to cover the regional office's costs, the centralized field costs that fund activities that usually have regionwide benefits, and the costs of the four field offices at the Tongass and Chugach National Forests. The remainder is designated as reserves.
