This publication reprints the Department of Commerce, NIST, Federal Register211u001enotice of July 28, 1998 entitled 'Metric System of Measurement: Interpretation of 211u001ethe International System of Units for the United States'; the Department of 211u001eCommerce, Office of the Secretary, Federal Register notice of January 2, 1991 211u001eentitled 'Metric Conversion Policy for Federal Agencies'; and Executive Order 211u001e12770 issues by the President of the United States on July 25, 1991 entitled 211u001e'Metric Usage in Federal Government Programs.' It also includes a diagram with 211u001eaccompanying text that shows graphically how the 21 SI derived units special 211u001enames and symbols are related to the seven SI base units.
