摘要

This paper examines motivational measures of engineers at HDOT applying211u001eHerzberg's two-factor model of motivators and hygiene factors. The study measures 211u001ethe perception of individuals regarding satisfaction and dissatisfaction from 211u001evarious motivational elements; obtains an evaluation of the relative importance 211u001eof these elements, and then combines these two measures to produce an indicator 211u001ecalled development index for each motivational element. It was discovered from 211u001ethis study that, at HDOT, the relative importance of elements and the 211u001esatisfaction experience are vastly different from Herzberg's study 40 years ago. 211u001eThe category of salary exhibited the greatest change in relative importance. The 211u001eorganization studied is analyzed for the motivation prevalent; the development 211u001eindex indicates that there are some serious issues that need to be confronted by 211u001ethe organization's leadership for job enrichment.
