摘要

The paper discusses the possibilities for using functional programming languagesin the process of designing parallel algorithms. For this application of functional languages, it needs to formalize the idea of 'independence of subtasks'. This is done by presenting the behavioral semantics of such languages. This is done using a framework based on partially ordered sets of events. After this, it presents annotations to express parallelism in functional languages. The semantics of these annotations is defined using the same framework.
