摘要

The thesis describes some aspects of the electrical activity as can be measuredfrom the visual areas of the cerebral neocortex. Signals were recorded simultaneously both at a microscopic (single-unit activity) as well as at a macroscopic level (the electro-encephalogram, EEG). Special emphasis was put on the relation between both these phenomena, with the objective to provide insight into the cooperative characteristics of groups of neurons.
