摘要

Wireless sensor networks (WSN) consists of light-weight, lowpowerudand small size sensor nodes (SNs). They have ability toudmonitor, calculate and communicate wirelessly.udIn this paper we present a performance evaluation of ZigBeeudwhich is IEEE 802.15.4 standard, including the Physical (PHY)udlayer and Media Access Control (MAC) sub-layer, which allowuda simple interaction between the sensors.udWe provide an accurate simulation model with respect to theudspecifications of IEEE 802.15.4 standard. We simulate andudanalyzed two different scenarios, where we examine theudtopological features and performance of the IEEE 802.15.4udstandard using OPNET simulator. We compared the threeudpossible topologies (Star, Mesh and Tree) to each other.ud
